The ATD Ford spark plug insert installer is used to repair damaged heads from blown spark plugs with an alloy steel insert. See our 38900 combo kit for more information (same kit with different labeling).

 This kit is used to repair damaged heads from blown spark plugs with an alloy steel insert.
 This kit cuts repair time from about 10 hours down to 45 minutes!
 Kit includes 8 alloy steel inserts pn 5401
 Comes in a molded storage case.
 
 

Over the Fender Repair for 4.6, 5.4 & 6.8 liter Triton engines (excludes InTech, see Time-Sert 5553) 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 Ford F150, F250, F350 Pick up Trucks 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 E150, E250, E350, Mustang, Crown Victoria, Expedition, Excursion & Mercury Grand Marquis. Works on some 2001 and up SOHC engines without the Extra Step Material above the spark plug hole. The Calvan 38900 does NOT have a counterbore like the Time Sert 5553 and 5600 to remove this extra material before preparing the hole for an insert. The 55518 counterbore is NOT designed to be used with the Calvan 38900. That's why we recommend using the 5553 or 5600 unless you can confirm that your 2001 and up engine does not have the problem heads with the extra step material. Using the 38900 on one of the problem heads would result in the spark plug sitting farther up and not reaching into the cylinder the proper distance. See 39300 or 3221for 5.4 3-Valve Engines from around 2005 to 2008.
