Cadillac / Oldsmobile Northstar

Cadillac and Oldsmobile Northstar engines have a common issue with the aluminum threads failing for the head bolts. Below are Time-Sert kits and inserts used to repair those threads. First time repairs, which have never had a repair insert installed previously use a regular kit. If there has been a repair insert installed before and it has failed, a BIG SERT kit will be required. Look for "BS" in the part number which indicates "BIG-SERT". If using a BIG SERT kit make sure to get additional line-up dowels. Since the holes will be larger when using the bigger inserts, the original line-up dowels for the cylinder heads will not work.
