The Time Sert 1812CORE BS is the "Big Sert" or oversize version of the standard 1812CORE kit for GM rocker bolt hole thread repair. The Big Sert repair kit is used when competing thread repairs have failed. Since it is oversize the outside diameter of the inserts are larger in diameter allowing a second chance to repair holes that were previously repaired.

This tooling has been used in rocker arm thread repair where the threads must start a few millimeters deep below a "Slot".

The core drill countersink combination will have to set by hand.
We use this special 4 flute core drill because it makes drilling
thru a slot easy. Using a traditional 2 flute is difficult because the drill
it wants to hang on the slot and break.  *When installing BIG-SERT inserts do NOT back up. Use a continuous right hand rotation of the install driver tool.

Best Over-Size Repair!

Used a Helicoil and the threads pulled out. The hole was too big for a regular Time Sert kit or any other standard size repair kit for that matter. Used the Big Sert oversized kit which had really strong solid inserts. Can't imagine them EVER failing. Thanks to this kit I didn't have to replace the cylinder head and the car is back on the road getting me to work ontime. Thanks for a great solution to Chevrolet's bad design!

Best Over-Size Repair!
