Yes, I’ll admit I wasn’t sold on the original Hub Shark. You see the Carmax in Tampa Florida where I had worked, had a Hub Shark. It was an older version that apparently didn’t have all the bugs worked out of it yet. I was successful using it a few times, to change some bearings “on the car”. But about half the time I ended up changing them the old way. I was intrigued by the idea of NOT having to remove the steering knuckle and using the old swing press (a hammer) or the two ton shop press that usually was missing adapters. When you work as a flat rate tech, saving a few minutes here and there is the goal. I also watched other guys when they grabbed the Hub Tamer from the parts department (that’s where it was stored). Most of the time, after a few minutes they would give up on the kit. I would see them taking the car apart and head towards the shop press!

Well this time Hub Shark has gotten it right. Not to say there’s no learning curve… there is. But after a tech has used this kit a few times, bearings can be changed faster and much easier.
